Biography
Maurits Kalff took his law degree at Amsterdam University in 1994. After obtaining his Master of Laws certificate at Columbia University in New York and accomplishing his military service, he joined De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek as a lawyer in 1995. He worked for the Amsterdam and The Hague branches, where he specialized recently in insolvency law and security rights. Since 2006, Kalff has been working as a partner in Van Doorne's litigation, insolvency and insurance practice. Together with Walter Hendriksen and Pieter van Regteren Altena, he focuses on general liability and the insurance practice. Kalff is particularly active in the fields of directors' and officers' liability, general property law, the rules on attachment/garnishment and enforcement, and international property law in combination with international insolvency law. Kalff also lectures at various courses in these fields, including at Grotius Academie, CPO Nijmegen and Vermande (SDU).
