Biography
Kriek Wille joined the then firm of Van Doorne & Sjollema as a lawyer in 1990. In the 1990s, she worked for some time at the Ministries of Economic Affairs and Justice. At the Ministry of Justice, she was involved in legislation research relating to intellectual property and civil law. In 2004, Kriek became director of a foundation devoted to improving relationships between well-known Dutch personalities and the media. She has a particular affinity with managing media attention. From 2006 to mid-2009, Kriek practised as a lawyer at a renowned intellectual property niche firm.
Within the Intellectual Property practice, Kriek focuses on entertainment and media law. In addition, she has wide experience in conducting proceedings and negotiations relating to press publications and other media (including TV programmes and Internet). Kriek has also specialised in protecting designs for art, culture and large retail organisations.
Kriek publishes articles about and speaks regularly on intellectual property subjects and has written a manual on intellectual property rights in bankruptcy cases. Furthermore, Kriek is an honorary justice and deputy at the Appeal Court in The Hague.
