Biography
Kees Stuurman is a partner at Van Doorne and head of the Information Technology group. He is also a professor of Information Technology Regulation at the Institute for Law, Technology and Society (TILT) at Tilburg University.
Kees specialises in providing legal advice on IT transactions and has extensive experience in the areas of outsourcing, IT and telecommunications contracting, European IT tendering procedures, e-commerce, proof and storage and website compliance, as well as legal aspects of open source, IT governance and IT security. Kees’ practice also includes the area of self-regulation (i.e. standardisation, certification and codes of conduct). He has gained ample experience in complex IT projects and, in many cases, works closely together with IT experts and other disciplines involved in IT transactions, such as finance and management.
Kees is recommended by several independent international surveys, including Chambers 2008: “Clients praise Kees Stuurman as quiet and academic - a sensible man who can negotiate. Widespread consensus affirms him to be an excellent lawyer with strong skills.”
